I’ve been getting some code commits done for DSub - an opensource android music player for Airsonic/Subsonic. I’ve not touched android development for a few years and it’s interesting how little has changed. Android Studio is a great bit of software, although some of its default keyboard shortcuts don’t do what you would expect.

The project needs a bit of modernising. It’ll be interesting to see if there’s scope to use Kotlin, as Java null checking is boring.

This week it was Malcolm Gladwell’s Tipping Point. Gladwell’s books are regularly on ā€œmust readā€ lists but I’m not entirely sure why. He presents interesting insights, but as other reviewers have pointed out, this would probably have been better at about half the length.
